چکیده

Non-nutritive metals, especially cadmium (Cd), are present in P fertilizers; the long-term application of these fertilizers leads to Cd build-up soil. The current study aims evaluate impacts sources and rates on growth maize (Zea mays L.) bioavailability Cd. Twelve treatments including rock phosphate 4 g kg−1 (RP1); 8 (RP2); 12 (RP3)); single super 333 mg (SSP1); 444 (SSP2); 555 (SSP3); di-ammonium 130 (DAP1); 174 (DAP2); 218 (DAP3); mono-ammonium 115 (MAP1); 154 (MAP2); 193 (MAP3) two soil textures (sandy clayey) were assessed. Results revealed that all significantly influenced plant yield characteristics (p ≤ 0.05). In both textures, plant, maximized by MAP DAP. Cadmium uptake was also 0.05) affected sources, levels, texture. It observed plants boosted with increasing levels. Maximum concentration root shoot found SSP3, its increased MAP3, whereas higher sandy concludes type fertilizer should be determined based texture human consumption crop avoid toxicity.

Evaluation of Dissipation Mechanisms for Pyrene by Maize (zea Mays L.) in Cadmium Co-contaminated Soil

Sites co-contaminated with organic and metal pollutants are common and considered to be a more complex problem, as the two components often have a synergistic effect on cytotoxicity. This study investigated the dissipation mechnisms for pyrene in cadmium co-contaminated soil in which maize (ZEA MAYS L.) was grown in a greenhouse experiment. Results showed the growth response of maize may be aff...

Remediation of soil co-contaminated with pyrene and cadmium by growing maize (Zea mays L.)

Sites co-contaminated with organic and metal pollutants are common and considered to be a more complex problem as the two components often causes a synergistic effect on cytotoxicity. Phytoremediation has been proposed as a cost-effective technology for treating heavy metal or organic contamination and may be suitable for remediation of co-contaminated soil. This study investigated the concurre...

Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Salicylic Acid and Sodium Salicylate Alleviate Cadmium Toxicity to Different Extents in Maize (Zea mays L.)

The role of salicylic acid in Cd tolerance has attracted more attention recently but no information is available on the efficiency of different forms of salicylic acid. The aim was thus to investigate whether both the acid and salt forms of salicylic acid provide protection against Cd stress and to compare their mode of action. Young maize plants were grown under controlled environmental condit...

Bioabsorption and Bioaccumulation of Cadmium in the Straw and Grain of Maize (Zea mays L.) in Growing Soils Contaminated with Cadmium in Different Environment

There is a worldwide increase of heavy metal or potentially toxic element (PTE), contamination in agricultural soils caused mainly by human and industrial action, which leads to food contamination in crops such as in maize. Cadmium (Cd) is a PTE often found in soils and it is ingested through food. It is necessary to determine the bioabsorption, distribution, and accumulation levels in maize to...
